The collective net worth of America’s top 12 billionaires now surpasses $2.2 trillion. Their combined wealth increased by more than $1.3 trillion, or 193 percent, between March 18, 2020 and December 3, 2024, according to the Institute for Policy Studies.  Elon Musk alone, owns companies with over $38 Billion in government contracts, at the same time his DOGE ransacked government agencies and contracts, eliminating up to $329.8 Billion in contracts held by others.  Since assuming office for the second time in January 2025, Donald Trump and his companies have earned over $3.4 Billion by peddling influence and shady dealmaking, primarily with middle-eastern kingdoms.  All of this blatant corruption pales in comparison to the effects that the 2010 Citizens United decision had on American elections.  according to the financial tracker Open Secrets:

•  Total outside spending: Non-party independent groups spent nearly $4.5 billion influencing elections in the decade after the Citizens United ruling (2010–2020), compared to a combined $750 million in the two decades before the decision.
• Super PAC spending: Super PACs, which can accept unlimited corporate and union money, spent $62.6 million in 2010. By 2024, that spending had ballooned to over $4.1 billion.
• Corporate-funded "dark money": A significant portion of this spending comes from corporations through non-profit "dark money" groups that do not have to disclose their donors. OpenSecrets reports that these groups spent $963 million in the decade following Citizens United, with the original sources often remaining unknown.
• Corporate contributions to 527s: One study found that from the 2010 election cycle onward, corporations and their trade associations provided nearly half—over $1 billion—of the total $2.5 billion raised by 527 groups. 

This data does not represent the complete picture because many corporate funds are funneled through other entities, making them difficult or impossible to track.  Our elections have been completely bought by corporations and their Billionaire owners, their priorities taking precedence over those of the people in every way.  The present administration has gutted the EPA, CDC, and every priority of the masses in favor of massive tax cuts for Billionaires, representing less than 0.01% of our population, all the while persecuting minorities like LGBTQ people, Hispanics and latinos, and Black communities with the full weight of the government.  They blame minorities for ALL of society's problems, but we at ProtestSource.com believe the ONLY minority truly destroying America are the Billionaires.
