The idea that healthcare is a human right is based on the idea that access to affordable health services is essential for life, and that it must be available to everyone.  This view is supported by international declarations like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which includes the right to a standard of living adequate for one's health and well-being. The argument also points to social and economic benefits for all nations such as improved public health and productivity, and emphasizes that a human rights framework can help reduce health disparities and protect vulnerable populations.  

Of all the developed nations of the world, only in the United States do people go bankrupt, or sink into decades of debt because of healthcare costs.  Our medical system is the only for-profit system, with the highest costs for every facet of care from doctor visits, to hospitalizations, medical equipment and devices, and the highest drug costs in the world.  The present administration is also doing everything they can to exacerbate the problem, even shutting down the government in their fight to further increase healthcare costs for all Americans.
